Dreamkastor you´re right, but same thing happens with the 6" mini tymp and the china to my left on the kit. I guess it was due to the position of the recorder, maybe it has to do with the pitch or something, I don´t know for sure.

Sounds good to me...especially the kicks.  I thought the 8" tom didn't hold up as well as the other toms volume wise.  I know it is the smallest tom, but it still seemed too quiet to me.

Hi everyone. After Stefan´s review on the Zoom Q3Hd recorder, I´ve been looking to put my hands on one of these, so finally, the day has arrived. I did a short video playing to one of my band´s songs, nothing special or to show off. I´m just an average amateur, but wanted to hear comments from you about the sound and stuff.

PS: I was excited with the addition od the 8" tom that Chopper bought for me. The snare is my very favourite one, the 8x14 Tama heavy birch of mr. Scott Rockenfield´s 1989 Mindcrime world tour. I bought it from Don Bennet´s drum studio a while back. It´s something special for me.

That was a good cover all in all, drumming is tight and good sounding, as usual. I think the singer has balls to even try to sing to a song that difficult in front of someone else. Geoff Tate is one hell of a singer. He nailed that song a couple years ago, when I saw them here last time. He was 51 I guess. Let´s put things into place, that song is very difficult, Geoff have/had one of the best voices on the rock scene, to me.

One suggestion for the next cover: One more time from the Promised Land album.

Quite good approach to a very difficult song. But, that just proves how good Gene is, at least to me. I know Aquiles plays it his way, but he misses a few of the intricate details Gene plays, plus a few double stroke feels on the snare and rides. The tom pattern at the end of the song is not even close to the original. 

That being said, obviously I can´t even play as good as Aquiles, haha!

I'll play live as long as I'm healthy enough to do so. If you want to hide in your bedrooms or garage you will never know the rush of seeing people jump and dance around to the beat that you are creating. Playing Clubs and bars is the price you pay. Let it be stated that hating clubs does not equal not playing live.  I love playing live.  You can still play festivals - charities - hell - even house parties/concerts etc.
Yeah you still won't make big coin - but at least it isn't going to a bar owner who is exploiting your band/talents.
