The different sized bass drum thing is what led me to this pedal setup.  24x18 on my left and 20x18 on my right.  Seriously, if you want them to sound significantly different, you got to do something drastic like pad the shit out of one of them (and rob the drum of how good it could actully sound).  And then the sound guy tries to make them sound the same anyway...

Out of all the drums I played, I like the 16x24 maple kick my DW had. Man did that thunder. I did like the 26" off my Granstar Custom but found it hard to mount more than 1 tom comfortably.

Deepth is more important than diameter anyway,,,,But the thing is ,,,if you like 26x14 great,,,,If you like 20x14 great too,,,as long as you are happy. Jeff loves 26's and doesn't feel comfortable with a 22,,,thats cool,,,Stick likes his 22's,,,also cool,,,so who is right,,,,I WILL TELL YOU

I've played the Travis Smith signature set with two 24/20's. The kicks were loud indeed, but lacking something, probably due to the shitty wood they're made from.

I like my toms lower. It's good for you because with your size, they're probably low for you LOL

one day, when i absolutely have nothing else to bother with, I will make myself a set of 24 dia by 20 deep, for the granstars, and 26x18's for the artstars.
Up yours, Goodman.
