That's because people are more likely to talk about when things go wrong than they do when they go right.  I also haven't put how much I love the snare, the sound of the shell, etc etc.  They're still going through their 'growing pains' so we'll see how things go.  At this point, they still haven't got back to me (technically they did, but just to say they were forwarding my email to a customer service rep)

EDIT- I just emailed the customer rep to see if he got my email, which he did and is sending me a replacement in black nickel.  Good customer service!
Why are you screaming? I haven't even cut you yet.

That's so true. Just look at all the posts shitting on Tama. If they were doing something right (like, let's say, for example - bring back the Granstars) all we would be doing is talking about Pearl LOL

Good point.  I've been meaning to say this, but I never got around to it:

I was looking at Tama's main site (not the forum) and I was actually really impressed with how much it has grown and how cool it looks.  I know the TDF had some problems getting their shit together with the new forum colors, but now that it's done, I actually think it looks really nice.  I still like this one more because the colors are easier for my eyes to handle.
Listen to Ron & Fez. Listen to Bill Burr.

Yup!  So, maybe I'll just get it re-coated (depending on the price) and hold onto the black nickel as a spare...or whatever!

I've had more problems working with my brother in law's Sonors than I've had with my Ddrums.

It's true!  With the Sonors I've played on I've had nothing but grief with the snare throw offs, lugs working themselves out, shitty 'piping', etc.

Hmm is the kit a  low end or intermediate kit? I can't see that happening with the designer kits or the SQ2's for that matter.

Intermediate.  Even with a $600 Steel snare the throw-off was absolute shit and the lugs constantly worked themselves all the way out.

Well things like that are going to happen when you buy low end stuff like that, You get what you pay for. I'm not saying ddrum is crap, Only that i've heard more negative things about them than positive.

Totally, but you still can expect a certain amount of quality. I think even lower-middle end drums deserve the best in customer service, which is what Ddrum is showing me. That is what inspires brand loyalty.

Sounds good.  Whenever i was at guitar center the other day they had a jordison snare . I hit it a few times and liked what i heard but i went with the pork pie brass over it since i already have the ulrich steel  which is insanely loud. I need to make a vid of it and the new brass. All in good time.

Yeah you got a nice kit perogi. I wouldn't go out of my way to get that snare the way it sounds right now though.

I like my snares like I like my hookers:

They do their job good, but don't stick around for coffee afterwards.

LOL
